E-mail: <b>“PHASE 2”</b><br> <br> During Summer 2016 discussions were opened about “Phase 2”. After a couple of meetings we had come up with an outline spec & budget for the new car along with new sponsor Pace Ward Insurance. The decision was taken to base the new build on the later CT9A platform, with so many more parts available and greater degree of tune-ability. We decided on a spec comprising of a mixture of development we had done on the old Evo VI & new ideas made possible by the new chassis. The emphasis was on making the new car lighter and stiffer initially.<br> <br> Gary had gained much experience from his own car as regard the handling and suspension set up, so we had a good head start with getting the car dialled in for the circuit. The power plant from the old Evo VI was reused whilst a new development engine from APT was planned for en extra boost during the 2017 season. With many years experience aiming for high HP engines during my time doing the 30-130 & drag events we had a good insight in to what was needed to produce the power required and keep it reliable.<br> <br> <b>TEAMWORK</b><br> <br> The team comprised of Phil Reed (Driver) , Gary, Danny, & Chris @ APT, & Myself (Ross @ Ross Sport). Motorsport teams are no different to any other sports teams, everyone has to be playing at the top of their game to get the results. We had grown the team together and worked so well together. Each event was something we all looked forward to. Phil’s continued development as a driver has allowed him to get faster & faster aided by the confidence he has in the car & the team.<br> <br> <b>2017 SEASON</b><br> <br> To date the 2017 season has been a dream come true. With the new spec Evo 8RS setting new UK & European lap records every time out.<br> <br> The highlight so far was taking the new car to Zandvoort for a round of Dutch Time Attack. Phil had never driven the circuit before, but got faster and faster throughout the day, and then on the final flying lap managed to break their lap record. He retuned to the pits to a standing ovation from the entire paddock congratulating him. Its a day I will never forget!<br> <br> We have a very special surprise for everyone following the UK Time Attack series with a special guest driver for the forthcoming double header event at Croft.
